This Durham kitchen is mid-build, and it's already telling a great story. White shaker cabinets are going up wall to wall - upper and lower - and the layout is clearly starting to define itself. There's a lot happening at once, which is exactly how a well-coordinated kitchen remodel should look at this stage.
Cabinet installation is one of those phases where sequencing really matters. The uppers go in first, then the lowers get set and leveled, and the island boxes get positioned before anything gets locked down permanently. Getting that order wrong creates headaches down the line - uneven reveals, countertops that don't sit right, doors that won't hang properly. We keep a close eye on all of it.
The appliances are already in place, which helps us dial in the final cabinet spacing and confirm everything lines up with the existing rough-in locations. The stainless refrigerator and range are set, the pendant cluster is hung, and the pantry shelving is getting sorted out in the adjacent space. It's a lot of moving pieces, but each one informs the next.
White shaker is a popular choice for good reason. It's clean, it works with almost any countertop material or backsplash, and it holds up well over time. When the countertops go in and the backsplash gets tiled, the whole space is going to feel completely different from where it started. We'll keep sharing progress as this one comes together.
