Custom Doggy Door, Ramp, and Secure Side Yard Build

A lot of homeowners with dogs deal with the same problem - their pets want outside access, but the setup just doesn't work. Maybe the door is too high off the ground, the yard isn't fully enclosed, or there's no safe way for the dogs to get in and out without help. That's exactly what we set out to fix here.

We built a full custom setup that connects the house directly to a secured side yard. That starts with a properly framed doggy door cut into the exterior wall, trimmed out cleanly so it looks like it belongs. From there, a gently sloped wood ramp leads the dogs down from the elevated entry point all the way to yard level - no jumping, no strain.

The ramp runs along the fence line with solid railing on both sides, keeping things safe and contained the whole way. We also built and hung a new wood gate at the side yard entrance - fitted with heavy-duty black strap hinges and a latch - so the space stays secure when needed. The framing is tight, the gate swings clean, and the whole thing ties into the existing fence without looking out of place.
